Finger Lakes Truck and Welding Supply has over 25-years of qualified experience along with Marro’s Equipment and Truck’s which has been in business for more than 50-years.
Owner Tony Marro started sweeping floors at his dad’s garage which started in Clyde, NY in the 1950’s which was then Marr Brothers. He has been in, on and around big truck’s his whole life. When his dad picked up the business and moved it to Waterloo, NY in 1978 Tony became a much bigger player and decided he wanted to add on a parts store to compliment the family business, so they added on a brick addition to the already standing three bay garage and opened Finger Lakes Truck and Welding Supply. He then told his dad I can take care of this why don’t you and mom go enjoy the rest of your life and buy a house in Florida, so they did. Tony now having free reign decided to add on a steel fabricating shop with big breaks and sheers and punches because no job would be too big for him. Still thinking that there was more he added a paint booth to make the business complete. When his dad comes home in the summer months we always have room for his welding expertise and keep him pretty busy, all though he doesn’t punch a clock any more. Two of his children are also now a part of the business and work for him and a third owns a business next door called The Waterloo Fast Lube along with her husband. If you have traveled by the three places you have surely seen that all the members bring their family dogs to work and they roam around the property greeting customers with a quick lick and a tail wag hoping for a treat.
Most of our customers have been around here as long as we have. We know their businesses well, their families names and even some of their pets. We have watched many of them pass their businesses on to their children too.
We’re probably a little old school still where the hand shake means more than any piece of paper. We do a lot of research before we pick up any new line of product because Tony stands behind them and he still thinks that’s pretty important. We’ll never be able to compete with all the Walmart’s in the world, but when you come in you get to talk to a person that knows something about your product and can answer all your questions with a quick phone call to someone that’s always willing to help, because they know without your business there is no business.
Were still just a mom and pop operation where everyone knows you and everyone cares about you.
